A Wacom tablet is a teaching tool utilized by Gull Lake Middle School teacher, Luke Walker. (Funds provided in part through a grant from the GLCS Foundation.) "This grant provided the funds for me to get a tablet that allowed me to teach my class without turning my back at a whiteboard or chalkboard. It built consistency within the classroom and increased student engagement. It also allowed for me to create support videos and upload interactive notes for students to reference and also for students that missed class. I have a student that has missed many days with health-related issues causing so much pain that the student cannot get out of bed some days. With this tablet I have been able to keep them updated with everything that is going on in class and allowing them to get work done outside of class to not be overwhelmed on the days they are able to make it to school. It has given them the freedom to participate in school and not feel as much stress of being behind when back to school." Luke Walker, Middle School Teacher |
