Welcome to our Alumni Group Page

Welcome Chad Walker, our new GLCSF Alumni Group Chair!

Growing up in the Gull Lake area, a love for sports and the outdoors captivated me at a young age. I attended Gull Lake Schools from K-12, was a member of the graduating class of '97, then attended and graduated from Michigan State University. My studies eventually led me to a career in the professional sports and entertainment industry, where I spent 10 seasons in the National Football League as a community relations manager for the Detroit Lions. I left the NFL to move back (home) to the Gull Lake area to be closer to family and to pursue a career in the local real estate industry.  I currently work as a full-time REALTOR with Jaqua Realtors, located on the Bay of Gull Lake in Richland.  My desire to help others, as well as my commitment and dedication to the community is the foundation of my approach to my work.
I am excited about my new role as Trustee and Alumni Group Chair at the Gull Lake Community Schools Foundation.  The Foundation strives to help enhance and elevate education at Gull Lake schools, which is important for the students and teachers of Gull Lake.  It is also great for our community - because we know - strong schools help build a strong community.  In my unique role as Alumni Group chair, I hope to harness the power of the wonderful Gull Lake alumni to help the Foundation make an even greater impact.  I'd like to do this by engaging alumni in school-related activities and events, and fostering relationships among alumni and their families to strengthen community bonds and to support Gull Lake students.  Stay tuned for more from the GLCSF Alumni Group - Go Blue Devils!

If you graduated from Gull Lake High School...
...this is a great way to stay involved! As important members of our community, our alumni generously contribute their time and resources to the success of the GLCS Foundation and, for that, we are so grateful!

By working together, we will help bridge the financial gap between equipping our children for their world and the public funding our schools receive. We enable our schools — our teachers, administrators and students — to be the best they can be.

"As a Gull Lake alum, a mom of two Gull Lake graduates, and a Gull Lake teacher, I am thrilled to serve on a board that supports all of these areas that are so important to me. The members of the Foundation are extremely dedicated individuals who serve with integrity and enthusiasm. They are careful stewards of the donations from our generous donors and each decision is carefully considered to evaluate its overall impact and its alignment with the Foundation’s mission. As a member of the Scholarship Committee, I have seen firsthand the impact this educational support has had on individual graduates. These young people are so grateful for the recognition of their hard work and are so appreciative of the financial support as they work towards their next goals." --Beckett Lockerbie

"After my graduation from Western Michigan University, I wanted nothing more than to return to my roots, Gull Lake. I was fortunate enough to get a teaching position at Ryan Intermediate, and later moved to Gull Lake Middle School. During my time there I was introduced to the Gull Lake Community Schools Foundation and was thrilled when I was asked to join. I love what the Foundation stands for, expanding and enhancing education at Gull Lake Community Schools. I hope to continue my work with the Foundation for many years to come and am thankful for the support the Foundation gives to all students and staff." --Laurie Klok

"I donate to the GLCS Foundation, and actively support it, because I believe in the organization and its effort to enhance and innovate the learning experience for everyone in the Gull Lake school district, from the administration to teachers, and specifically the students. I have lived in many communities since growing up on Gull Lake. I have experienced different areas within Michigan, United States, and Europe. There is nothing like returning to your local community and being part of a community of friends that is inter-generational. I returned to the area to become an active and positive influence within the community and to show my children the same great community I experienced growing up." --Jay Garside
